ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Sunshine Charter School is pleased to invite you to attend our Parent Information Seminars, offered as part of our ongoing outreach during the charter petition and authorization process with the San Juan Unified School District.
These seminars are designed to provide families with a clear understanding of our school’s mission, vision, programs, and the educational opportunities we aim to bring to our community. We will also explain why Sunshine Charter School is needed, particularly to support multilingual students, including newcomers and those from Farsi-Dari and Pashto-speaking backgrounds, who often face challenges such as language barriers, interrupted education, and limited access to culturally responsive learning environments.
During these sessions, we will share how Sunshine Charter School is designed to address these needs by providing a strong academic foundation, language development, and targeted student support, while also building confidence, identity, and long-term success for our students.
During these seminars, parents and community members will have the opportunity to share their children’s challenges, along with their ideas, perspectives, and questions.
This open and collaborative discussion helps us better understand the needs of our families and ensures that the school is built in partnership with the community.
Our goal is to ensure that families are fully informed, supported, and actively engaged as we move forward in this process, and to build a strong and lasting partnership with our community from the very beginning.
